Presidents Roslin & Johnson

Standard

So, in the next post I’ll be yammering about the American population
hurdling the 300million barrier, but while searching for a pic of LBJ
next to the population clock in ’68 when the population hit 200m, i
found this:

which reminded me of this:-

I get the feeling the similarity was intentional.

  1. Except they tend to do serious things in ridiculous ways. The death of the pilots in season one, the death of Billy. The arrow of Apollo. Great ideas, with poor execution.

Other than that, though, it is indeed fab.

  2. Julenka – I particularly like how they’re addressing the issues at the heart of US/international politics without going for the cheap cracks at dumb Republicans, like many shows. At some point though people will realise that sci-fi often addresses serious questions in an intelligent manner, and then it may be doomed. Although it has survived The Matrix: Revolutions and The Phantom Menace. And thank VALIS for that.

I agree. It seems like they’re content on just exploring the issues, without getting into the petty squabbling of politics.

I still remember that one episode with the torture of Six. This show is excellent!

Roslin is evil. Indeed, I sometimes wonder if she is indeed the devil.

Gaius on the other hand is the true epitome of good and wonderfulness in pink and fluffy form.

Dee for president. Smurf day every day!
